MEET THE TEACHER

Today was Meet The Teacher for the boys. Lance could care less. And Garrett told me that he was not going in that room. It was not his classroom. We will see who wins that battle!

That is all that has been happening around here. Pretty low key right now. We are planning on enjoying the holiday weekend at home. Just hanging out doing honey-dos. Maybe a little time outside in the sprinkler. Hopefully some BBQ.

But for now I am enjoying the quiet. The boys are in bed and Billy is working late. And I finally get some me time. Much needed.

All of the kits above will be for sale starting tomorrow! And a few of them will be on sale or for a great price! So check back tomorrow for more information!

52 HITS

What the heck happened to Dimetapp? It is no where to be found! I called Lance's pedi today to try and get some snot stopping medicine and they told me to use Dimetapp and they increased his dosage. So we packed up and went to Walgreens and there is NO Dimetapp. The lady behind the counter said it was pulled from the shelves. So then I asked Billy to stop at WalMart and get some. And it is not there either! From what we gathered- it was taken off the market until they "re-formulate" it with something other than pseudoepherdrine. Thanks Meth Heads! Because of you I can no longer get the good stuff for my sick child. UGH!

I just checked my StatCounter and I received 52 hits yesterday! Who are you people?

And since my mother-in-law was wanting to see more:

Created using Dani Mogstad's Retro Rerun kit Fabulous Fall available at designbydani.

Created using Kelly Shults Curiosities Kit available at ACOT.

Guess what????

Garrett is almost accident free!!! The few accidents he has had lately have been when he was writing words. And they have been outside. Here is a picture of G writing and smelling his words. Today's word was HOT.

And this is Lance trying to be a big boy. He wants to go potty outside like his Daddy and brother.

And Garrett and Billy watching football and eating cheese puffs.

OK- this is long enough. I need to save some for the next post! :)

WEEKEND UPDATE

Another great weekend! Saturday was spent doing a few things around here and napping. I TOOK A NAP! Then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's for supper. The boys got to run around and chase the dogs and play with different toys. (Susie- Lance and Daisy got along well!) Garrett talked the WHOLE way home. And tried to sing along with the radio.

Lance was still snotty and grumpy this morning so I stayed home with him while G and Billy went to church. Lance and I got some good bonding time in without big brother. He loves his mommy time. I look forward to Tuesdays when it is just the two of us. Garrett gets his mommy time everyday when Lance naps and he loves it! That is the time when we "smells words"- his latest fascination. At least he is no longer obsessed over everything being 10.

After lunch I got Lance down for a nap and Garrett on the computer playing his games. I put Billy to work! He helped me rearrange the living room. And it looks good! He also vacuumed the baseboards and couches without me even asking! And we did not fight or argue! That never happens we we move furniture! The room looks good and "new." Now if I could just get rid of the piano. Anyone want it?

And I can finally show some of the layouts I have been working on. I have been sitting on them for a week waiting for the kits to be released to Dani's store (Aug 28).

This one uses her new kit- Maddy's Smile along with her stitched circles.

And this picture is from last October. Yes- I am going backwards! This kit is a Retro Rerun Kit of Dani's. She is having a great sale on a few of her older kits! I used Autumn Spice 2 and a photo corner from Puppy Love and a stitching from A la Carte- ALL DANI'S!

Another older picture. Everything is from the Expecting Sweet Stuff Collection by Christy Lyle and Robin Carlton- papers, tag and bow from ABC baby and the stitches are in the bonuses. Font is bickley script. Scraplift from Hyphen

Credits: Papers, clip, ribbon and beads are from His Playtime, card is from His Day Out, bow is from ABC Bab- all from the Expecting Sweet Stuff Collection by Christy Lyle and Robin Carlton, the denim alphabet is from Christy Lyle. The font is CK Marissa.
journaling: Daddy tries his best to shorten the nighttime stories. But Garrett has caught on! Whenever Daddy skips a part of the story Garrett lets him “NO Daddy” and makes him read it over! Scraplifted from Jackie Delfin

I used Dani Mogstad's Quiet Comfort from her This Love Collection

I think that is all- for now!

YUCKY

We all seem to have yucky noses this weekend. Not fun! We are just planning on taking it easy and doing a few things around the house. I think Billy might be making homemade chicken soup today. YUM!

I am hoping to get some scrapbooking done and rearrange the living room. The couches need cleaning in a major way. But that means I need to remove Garrett from the couch. He loves his Saturday morning cartoons!

Want to see what I will be working with? You have no choice!

You can get it HERE!

Have a great weekend!

SIT DOWN BUS DRIVER

Okay- only my fellow Aggies will understand this little story. The boys were watching Sesame Street this morning in the living room and I was ironing *gasp* in my bedroom. Garrett was on the couch and Lance on the floor. Lance stood up and walked towards the TV. He likes to go touch Elmo. Of course he was blocking Garrett's view. So Garrett yells "SIT DOWN BUS DRIVER!" Cracked me up!

And then I was on the phone with a friend. I was telling her about something that happened and how it really bugged me. Garrett then asked me what kind of bug was it?

And Lance. Lance is beginning to try to talk. The words that you can really understand are juice (which he calls all drinks) and bye bye. But the rest of the time he just babbles. But it is hilarious because he does it so emphatically. And he thinks he is Mr. Big Boy now. He will go sit on the little potty- with all his clothes on. I just think he wants to get a starburst like his brother does.

Tonight Garrett begins Awanas. Lance will be an Awana Friend and get to play. I have a meeting and Billy will go with Garrett. It will be interesting because we won't get home until after 8:30 which is past bedtime.

I am not looking forward to tomorrow. Lance is going to the podiatrist to have his toes looked at. I have a feeling they may have to dig his nail out. He still has little chubby feet although he has slimmed down everywhere else.

Before I go I want to share my pleasant surprise I saw this morning. I was checking my email and blogroll and saw that I was the Reader Pick of the Day.

I need to go hop in the shower and get ready for tonight.

WARNING

I am in the process of updating my blog and moving it to beta. So if things look wonky for a while that is why. :)

UGH!

Well- I had to take Lance to see the doctor today. His little tiny toenails are becoming ingrown. So now we have to make an appoitment to see a podiatrist and figure out what to do.

Right now he is naping. His nap schedule is way off! And Garrett is watching Between the Lions. So while I have a few minutes I thought I would update- but I really have nothing to update!

This is for all my scrapping friends-

Did you know that Amanda Rockwell is now selling at Scrapbook Bytes??? Her first kit in the store is Marcus. And this is a layout I made using it:

I have more to show but I will save it for another day. I need to go sweep and mop. It is amazing how much dirt Billy can drag in. Just joking!!!

PICTURE DAY

I know it has been a few days since I have added anything. And I am too hot to think of anything to say right now. Will pictures do instead?

GOT A NEW BLINKIE!!!

Not much is going on around here. It is too hot to do anything. I have a huge list of things to do before the first MOPS meeting. Getting kinda nervous.

Garrett is wanting to draw and do his coloring books. Today he did Dot to Dots. He was so proud of himself! He walked around with his book all day talking about it. But the one time he set it down the little tornado came along and scribbled all over it. Garrett was devasted! I felt so sad for him. I told him we would get another book for him to work in. And one just for Lance.

I have a few layouts to show. I also have pictures but they are still on my camera.

So- I had a wonderful email today. Totally unexpected! It was from Dani Mogstad. She invited me to be on her CT!!!! And as you can tell by the blinkies over there I said yes! I still do not believe it. This is going to be so much fun! Her designs are gorgeous and I have no idea where to start! I want to use every kit right now! And she has the most adorable little girl with hair that I would love to have. Lexi is so going to be Lance's girlfriend one day.

It is getting late and I need to hit the sack. I will be painting at the church tomorrow and then I will be waiting for Kirsty to get home so we can talk. Don't you EVER go on a two week vacation again girl!

ESCAPE ARTIST

Well- it seems my little boy is growing up. He is now able to throw his leg over the top of the crib so the rail is now off! Which means Lance is now NOT staying in bed. So we just throw him in the room and he plays until he conks out- usually about 10 minutes. And this is how we find him:

It sounds and looks horrible but this boy loves to sleep on the floor. When he is tired he just lays down where he is and falls asleep. I guess he hasn't thought to climb into Garrett's bed or his little bed. He does it all day long but not when it is time to sleep!

We had a great day today! The boys got some Daddy playtime in and Mommy finished the laundry. Garrett then informed us he wanted to eat Messican food. So after we ran a few errands we went to G's favorite restaurant. We then took them to get frozen custard. Fun fun!

Backtrack- yesterday we went to a local park and played with on of Garrett's friends. They had a blast but we didn't stay long because it was too hot and the ducks were swarming us looking for food.

Here are a few pictures from this past week:

Playing in the mud and mud fingerpainting

That is all Blogger will let me post. Guess you will have to catch the rest in a layout! Have a great Sunday!

TEN

Garrett is all about the numbers lately. He wants 10 of everything. 10 cars, 10 starbursts(yeah right), 10 crayons, 10 bites of lunch. He just told me he wants to watch Toy Story 10. He makes me laugh.

Lance is a handful. That sentences says it all. I can not give him a bath without getting soaked. He spends his day looking for things to knock down and throw. He is also very dirty. Always has a grubby face. He chases Trevor around saying "bar bar"- his way of barking. Oh but he loves to snuggle when he finally decides to wind down.

Trevor is driving me nuts. He is digging out of the back yard to come to the front door to be let in. Doesn't go anywhere else. Just wants to use the front door.

Billy- who is Billy? Just joking! He is working is tail off to get this school finished. Wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have to make a 70 mile drive to get there. And be out in the heat all day. Everyone will be glad when this job is over and we can get closer back to normal.

And I am just fine and dandy. Especially now that I have a dryer. Yup, I did not have a dryer for a few days. I started doing laundry and it just wouldn't dry. Billy looked at it and could have fixed it but the parts alone would have been as much as getting a newer one. So yesterday I spent the day hanging clothes on my temporary clothes line. It was so hot that it took no time for the clothes to dry. But I did have to go run out and pull them down when it started raining. I learned last night that I cannot wear clothes that are dried outside. I am not too fond of the smell but it was the allergies that killed me! I itched like crazy all night long. But I am back in business today. My new to me dryer came this morning. The boys think it is great.

So- last Sunday I had a long meeting and let the three boys here alone. This is what happens when it is Daddy time:

Dirty dirty boys. He must have done something right because Garrett went to bed at 6:45. And Lance would have been not far behind if would have kept his diaper on instead of taking it off again and again. Gonna have to start using the duct tape on it.

I have not been able to scrap lately. No inspiration. I am hoping to be able to rearrange the house and move the desk soon and I hope that gets me going again. But I did do this page:

TAX FREE

Yes, we are insane. My mom and I ventured out to the outlet Mall WITH THE BOYS for tax free weekend. And it really was not that bad. The stores did not get insane until after lunch. The boys were very well behaved and made it very easy. I think the best deal we found were the $4 jeans at The Children's Place. Lance got his first backpack and lunch box. And he now can say backpack. They both got new shoes. Lance really needed new shoes. He has been going barefoot lately because he outgrew his shoes- literally overnight. And Garrett got new shoes because they were Hot Wheels and he would die without them. I was a little disappointed that everything was cold weather clothing. Do they not know that it is only cold in Texas for 3 weeks?

If you ask the boys they will tell you the best part of the day was the carousel ride. Garrett had a grin the entire ride. And Lance actually enjoyed himself. Every time they would come around and I would wave Lance would start laughing. Too cute!

I came home to 4 letters- 2 for each boy. It was their room assignments and teachers for Mother's Day Out and their new Sunday School rooms. MDO is less than a month away! And in 2 weeks we start Awanas and MOPS. This fall will be busy! Mondays are the only day that there is not anything planned. I was thinking about signing Garrett up for soccer but I don't think we will have the time.

That is all the latest. Nothing too exciting. Tomorrow is Sunday school and church. And another meeting in the evening. And not much planned for during the week.

So I leave you with the one layout I have finished. I am behind on my CT duties!

CARS

Garrett is obsessed with CARS. Cars everything! We have a collection of the McDonald's CARS and they go everywhere with him. He sleeps with Lighting McQueen and on him since he now has CARS sheets. He wanted CARS shoes but Target was out. We have in depth conversations about CARS and what they said in the movie. Lighting McQueen and Mater now have a place in his prayers. I hope the movie comes out on DVD in time for Christmas. I think it has replaced Toy Story.

Not much is happening here. We have spent a few days at the church painting the Discovery Land. I am sore today. I forget how short my arms are. And how messy I am when I paint. I don't get it anywhere but on myself.

Can you believe that Lance is 17 months today? He is growing too fast. He has developed a big boy look and is losing the baby fast. He also thinks he is a big boy. He spends his day doing everything big brother does. Including jumping off the couch and bed. He also likes to get his tools and go around the house fixing everything. And he dances. Oh how he dances!!!! I need to get a video of it. Hilarious! But he is still my cuddler. He will always stop playing to give a hug or kiss. He also loves to get bear, bunny and a blanket and curl up on my lap. I take every opportunity he gives to love on him. Oh yeah- he also learned how to tell you shhhhhhhhh- complete with sound and finger to the mouth. Yup- told everyone in Target to SHHH SHHHH SHHHHH today.

I need to get to bed. I have another tree to paint in the morning and whatever else Emily draws! Here are a few layouts from the weekend:
