SHORT AND SWEET

I never knew summer could be so busy! It has been crazy around here. Of course it is all stuff I bring on myself but hey- I am enjoying it.

I had a couple days by myself last week when the boys went to my parents. I was able to get a bunch of MOPS stuff done and rest! I also went to the store by myself. Felt great! On Friday I took the boys up to the church and let them play while I helped my friend Emily paint the preschool area. It is sooooo neat! I will show pictures when it is finished. And Saturday we all went to the grocery store and played around the house. In the afternoon I went back up to the church to paint a little more. And then it was back to church this morning for Sunday School and all that. And then I was back up there this evening for a meeting. And then we will go back tomorrow to paint again in the morning. I am glad we only live 4 minutes away!

Ok- I need to get to bed. Garrett went to bed early which means he will wake up early.

Rain Rain Go Away

Yucky yucky weather today.

I am sitting here wondering what to do. The boys are at my parents today and I am by my lonesome. Well- Trevor is here because he refuses to go outside when it is raining. I have folded all the laundry and picked up around the house. I guess I could clean the playroom and bathrooms. Or I could chat with Kirsty on Hello all day.

I have a picture to share. I don't think I have put it up here before. It was on my desktop for the longest time. Typical Garrett.

BEST Monday Ever!

I know this will have no meaning to my family. So- you can skip this if you want.

I had the best day today! I found out that I made Christy Lyle's creative team! Her designs are found at The Sweet Shoppe. And then Kelly Shults asked me to be on her team. She sells at Scrapix-Design, Scrapbook-Elements and A Cherry on Top. And then this afternoon I got a message that I am the featured scrapper at Digi Shop Talk (look here). WOW! I am going to be busy!

And Garrett only had 2 accidents.

I need to update my blinkies now! I am so thrilled to be creating for that list to the left. Awesome ladies and awesome designs.

Arctic Edge

Garrett went to the Arctic Edge this week at VBS. And this video is from the closing ceremony. This is my son:

I know the quality is not great (my camcorder battery is dead and I had to use my camera) and we were far away. This is basically all he did. Sit there and look for us. I have pictures but they still need editing. Hope you enjoyed it!

MIA

Yup- I was MIA this past week. VBS drained me. Being gone from 8:30 to 4:30, taking care of a room of one year olds, getting the kids dressed, packed and out of the house on time and dealing with the awful heat took every ounce of energy I had. And on top of all that one of the babies in my classroom was sick and got everyone else sick.

But it was great! Garrett had a blast at "cation bible school." He thought it was really cool to eat lunch at "God's basketball court." Lance had a good time also. I have a few pictures of Lance but I can only share one right now- I don't want to put pictures of the other kiddos on here. I do not have any of Garrett because I avoided him and his class so he would not get upset if he saw me. I will hopefully get to take a few tonight at the closing ceremony. I am sure Garrett will be the one standing on stage with his hands over his face or crying.

I need to go put Lance down for his nap. Catch you later!

Nap Strike

Lance is on a nap strike. He knows his big brother is not taking a nap so he thinks he doesn't need one! This makes for a very grumpy household around 6:00. No worries though- next week is VBS and I know it will wear him out! It will wear all of us out!

Nothing much going on around here. It is hot and dry and buggy. Mosquitoes are taking over. They are huge and ugly. The bug man drove by the other night but he was no help. I am sure we will be hearing about West Nile soon. Garrett does not like them at all but he is afraid of all bugs. I know- he is a weird boy.

Ok- need to go. the boys want me to play cars with them. And we need to go on a paci hunt and find all the pacifiers Lance had hidden around the house.

Monday

Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a great weekend. We had a really pleasant weekend. It would have been perfect if it didn't rain but hey- Garrett got to use his umbrella and that made him happy. And I got my carpet cleaned and that made me happy! :)

We did a bunch of cleaning and fixing around here. We know that if we ever want to sell this house than we need to do a little remodeling. I will probably start with repainting the walls. So I can cover up the marker and crayon. And the exterior needs paint. We actually picked out a paint color but it is just too dang hot to paint right now. So many projects- too many little kids that want to help!

I think both of the boys have hit a growth spurt. Garrett will not stop eating. He is always asking for food. He asks for breakfast all day long. That boy can eat cereal for every meal- unless there is pizza around. Today he has eaten: instant oatmeal, 3 pieces of pizza, 2 tomatoes, a pear, bowl of cheese crackers, a few strawberries, 2 cups of juice, 2 cups of water and a fruit roll-up. And it is ONLY 3:30!!! Lance is also eating a bunch but usually only at meals. The other night he had 3 servings of beefaroni, 2 servings of green beans and 2 of pudding. They are getting so tall! I am so glad that it is summer right now and they can wear shorts. Because if they were in jeans I think they would look like they were in capris.

Lance is starting to wake up from his nap. Have a great day!

Crazy Week

Mid-week holidays really drive me nuts! I thought everyday was Friday. And now it Friday and I can't wait for Saturday.

Not much has been going on here. It has rained all week and is so yucky outside. The grass is tall and there are ants and mosquitoes everywhere. Yup- it's July!

The boys and I have just been hanging out. Playing CARS and puzzles. Pretty boring.

I don't think we have any plans this weekend. Well- Billy does. He is going to steam clean the carpets. He doesn't know that yet. I think I will just direct him here and let him find out that way.

I really don't have anything else to say. I guess I could put a few translations up. You know- just in case you see my kids anywhere.

Lance

No title

I am too tired to think of a title right now. And this is going to be a quick post. Just wanted to pop in so you wouldn't worry about us! I guess I can give you an update of all we have been up to.

Sat.
boys got hair cuts
went grocery shopping

Sun.
Lance and I went to church
Billy and Garrett cooked

Mon.
played with the boys
went to see Cars

Tue.
Billy replaced kitchen faucet and fixed our leaky shower
cleaned bathrooms
went to cousin's house for 4th
inhaled too much sparkler smoke
stayed up with Lance from 12:45 to 4:15 in the morning

Yup- I was up with Lance. I think it is night terrors. I was hoping he wouldn't get them. Two boys with nightmares is going to be pretty exhausting!

Need to go splash water on my face.

Happy belated 4th! Hope you had fun!

Pics

Here are the pictures

Not the best scan but you get the idea

Happy Saturday!

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. We are doing absolutely nothing! Well- we are doing a bunch of little things but aren't going anywhere. I am hoping I can convince Billy into making me some of his good BBQ. And I have to have a watermelon. You can't celebrate in July without a watermelon.

Yesterday I went with Mom and the boys to the mall. We had pictures taken. They are adorable! I will have to scan them and post them later. We also took them to the indoor playground and they PLAYED! Lance climbed and ran and laughed! Garrett did the same but anytime another child would come near Lance he would say "No, that's MY brother."

Right now they are both sitting on the couch watching cartoons. Too cute! Lance is growing up so fast. He is a little boy and Garrett is a big boy.

Well- I need to go do the dishes. I am sure I will have some help from Lance. If you can call it help.

I leave you with two things I worked on this week:

This was round 2 for Digital's Next Top Scrapper Contest

credits: papers from Michelle Coleman's Good Karma, tag book is from Christy Lyle, inked frame is from Valerie Fowler, stitch is Amanda Rockwell's from Ethan's Hope, blue plaid ribbon is Kim Hill's from Ethan's Hope, brown ribbon tie is from Nikki Meador from Ethan's Hope, blue folded ribbon (recolored) is from Lovely In lilac by The Digi Chic, large folded ribbon is from Tropical Cabana (recolored) by Miss Mint, suede star (recolored), tag and string are from Miss Mint's For My Father, staple is from Miss Mint's Tropical Cabana, grunge stamp alpha are also Miss Mint's. Journaling reads:
I can see the question in your eyes. You are such an inquisitive little boy! Always trying to figure out the camera. Every time I take your picture I wait for the question... am I in there?

And this was for a challenge at Sugar Giggles

Have a great day!
